Announcing the SICG Bolting Fund

We have set up this fund to assist the climbing community to replace or maintain fixed anchors in the Sydney region including the Blue Mts and Nowra.

Anyone can request funding provided they are experienced and are willing to consult with the local climbing community, and funds will be provided on a case by case basis.

Donations can be made at the gym, or if you would like to donate or access the funds, contact us at the email address on this page. SICG will be matching all donations $ for $.

 

History

After pioneering indoor climbing in Sydney in 1993 (first in NSW), we upgraded to a new "high" standard in 2003 by building our new venue in St Peters. After several upgrades since, it becaame the country's largest, with around 2900 m2 of climbing walls. The company is owned and operated by three climbers, Mike Garben, Simon Stevens, and Tony Meer.

In 2010 the three original owners joined with Kip Newing, Neil Lasker and David Stone to build a gym at least the equal of St Peters, at Villawood. Our goal was to go the next step in gym design.

If you have climbed at St Peters, your member card and belay check will be recognised at Villawood. Memberships bought at either venue, e.g yearly memberships, direct debit memberships or ten visit passes. will be valid at both venues.
